Impact, abrasion, and long spans. This is 7/16 and 1/2 in wire — guards, grids, trays, hangers, and wire baskets — not a light clip cell.
Mining hardware in this shop is the top of the 4–14 mm band. 1018 and higher-carbon for guards and decks; 304 or 330 when corrosion or heat is the spec. Weld is structural: resistance on mesh, MIG / TIG on rims. Inside radius follows the design guide, not a sharp CAD corner.
